valdarnoValdarno is a small Tuscan region and the territory where you will find the Arno River basin. A lush and beautiful landscape,Valdarno is divided into two parts: Valdarno Superiore, which covers the provinces from Arezzo to Florence, and Valdarno Inferiore, which covers the provinces from Florence to Pisa.

The most important part of the region is Valdarno Superiore, a zone bordered by the Pratomagno Masses and the Chianti Mountains, the Arno River and half of the Inferno Valley.

The Valdarno territory is split between mountain and hilly landscapes and verdant plains and fields. A thriving region, Valdarno’s economy is based in many different sectors including  food, textile, mining, clothing and, of course, tourism.

The principal cities in Valdarno reflect the splendid natural scenery and the local population’s desire to conserve the beauty of their landscape. These cities include Montevarchi, Capraia, Santa Croce sull’Arno, Terranuova Bracciolini, Reggello, San Miniato, Pisa, Cascina and Pontedera.
