Casentino is one of the many territories that divide Tuscany. A valley located in the province of Arezzo, Casentino is more of a regional zone than a province and includes the source of the Arno River, as well as many small masses including Mount Falterona and Mount Falco, the Pratomagno Mass, the Catenaia Alps and the Serra Alps- all very popular with hikers of all skill levels.

The landscape of Casentino is one of indescribable natural splendour, made up of peaks that reach and exceed 1600 metres that sweep down into small woods and forests, low hills and plains.

Casentino draws its fair share of visitors thanks largely to its incredibly beautiful oases and protected reserves.

Not just safe places for local flora and fauna, these reserves are breathtaking examples of the environment that makes Tuscany so splendid and attractive, and includes the Casentinesi Forests National Park, as well as Monte Falterona Park and Campigna Park.

Not just a charming landscape, Casentino is also home to some picturesque villages and towns, in particular, Capolona, Castel San Niccolò, Bibbiena, Chiusi della Verna, Montemignaio and Chitignano. All of which are worth a look if you have a spare moment while you’re admiring Casentino.
